Bookmarks are primarily used to have a list of all your favourite works, or works you want to keep a hold of. You can view all your bookmarks in a list and you can filter them, and add your own tags and notes.
The filtering system is pretty much identical to filtering by tag just with the addition of a few features
To create a bookmark, you need to go to the page of the fic/series you want to bookmark.
At the top of the page you are going to see one of these toolbars:
Clicking on the bookmark option will bring up this form:
Here you can choose to enter in your notes, your own tags, add it to a collection, or set it as private bookmark and/or a recommendation.
Notes: Your thoughts and opinions about the fic, anything info you want to keep track of. It doesn’t really matter. I’ve used notes to take note of what chapter I’m on in a long fic.
Your Tags: Tags you want to add to the fic that it doesn’t already have. Whether that’s content warnings, a certain trope, whatever helps you keep things organised.
Collections: don’t worry about it
Private Bookmark: If your bookmark is set to public, anyone can see that you have bookmarked it and they can also see all your notes and tags. If you set a bookmark as private, not even the author can see you have bookmarked it, only you. All your notes + tags will be private You can change whether a bookmark is public at any time
Rec: Do you recommend this fic?
These details will end up looking like this underneath the fic on your bookmark list:
